Sammy J ~ Drums

Sammy brings years of musical experience, creativity, and a genuine love of making music to his drum students at Leading Note Studios Magnolia!

A multi-instrumentalist with a special background in percussion, Sammy has been performing with bands and musical groups since 2006. His experience spans everything from marching and symphonic bands to jazz, rock, country, and orchestral music. He also served as a percussion section leader during high school and continues to be actively involved in music today.

In addition to drums and percussion, Sammy plays guitar, bass, keyboards, and sings. He has been writing and recording his own music since 2007 and has extensive experience with recording, live sound, and music technology.

Sammy loves helping students understand not only how to play, but how all the pieces of music work together. His broad musical background makes him a great fit for students who want to build strong rhythm skills, learn their favorite songs, play with other musicians, and most importantly — have fun behind the drums!
